When I was around 22 weeks pregnant, I start thinking about a prenatal course. Did I even want to? Did I NEED to? I truly didn’t do a lot of research to help me answer these questions. I asked my doctor what he thought, he said it would be helpful and so I listened.
Do I think it was necessary? Absolutely. Read More
Registering for your baby shower is so fun! I remember doing mine so early because I couldn’t wait to pick out all the cute stuff I thought I’d need for my little one. But it’s also overwhelming – which car seat, which stroller, how many blankets do I need?! It’s all so much! Luckily there are many women before you who have done it who can help you figure out exactly what you need and what you can skip. Read More
First of all, there’s just something about being pregnant that’s hard to put your finger on. Maybe it’s the chemical bond you feel with your baby, but there’s some warm fuzziness there that I do miss. Feeling him move inside me was such an amazing feeling and I REALLY miss that part.
Are you a mama-to-be? Are you weeks or even days away from giving birth? Congratulations!! You’re about to embark on a wonderful (albeit chaotic) journey of raising a little human! During my whole pregnancy I was terrified of giving birth, but towards the end (around week 38), I knew it was coming soon and the fear really took over. I don’t do well with pain and am super type-A, so not knowing how painful it would be or when it would happen made me very anxious. Luckily, I have an amazing spouse who always knew what to say to make me feel a little less freaked out. Read More
Pregnancy is a beautiful thing. Or maybe it’s just the baby you get afterwards that’s a beautiful thing. Or maybe it’s both! I actually can’t complain too much because my pregnancy had been quite easy, especially compared to some mama’s I know who really struggled with morning sickness, extreme pain, and fatigue. Read More
I’ve said it before, but I was extremely naïve when it came to pregnancy, babies, and parenthood. My fiancé and I are somewhat of a couple of book nerds, so we turned to what we knew best: books. We asked around for recommendations, and used Amazon reviews to figure out what books we wanted to buy. We bought…a lot. A silly amount, really. But out of the pile, we found a few that really spoke to us – they were informative, well written, and extremely helpful. Read More
