5 Reasons You Need To Hire A Travel Agent For Your Next Vacation

As a travel agent, the question I get asked most often is “Why should I hire an agent?” And it’s a fair question! In this day and age, searching and booking for travel is pretty easy to do on your own. But even so, wouldn’t you love to just sit back and let someone else do it all for you?

If you’re on the fence about whether or not hiring a travel agent is the right move for you, here’s a list to convince you:

1. Working with an agent provides expert advice, feedback, and tips

I personally specialize in Disney vacations and who else can agree that planning a Disney vacation can be overwhelming, exhausting, and time consuming? But guess what? I’m a weirdo and I LOVE planning them! I’ve been to Disney parks countless times and truly consider myself an expert. If you’ve never been, using an agent can be immensely priceless. I can help you figure out the best times to go, which days to hit up which parks, which rides to ride first, which fast passes to get, and more! I can provide recommendations for dining, snacks, and other things to do and see in the area. This kind of research would take you hours or even days!

2. You won’t need to deal with any headaches  - the agent will do it for you!

When to go? When to book? Who to call if a change needs to be made? I can handle all of these things for you. If you need to make a change to your trip, I can sit on hold while you go about your day. If you need to figure out the best place to book a car, I can do the searching. Basically all your travel headaches belong to me now! What a relief, eh?

As an example, I recently booked an all-inclusive vacation for two ladies who wanted a girls trip. I searched and rifled through many different vacation options for them. I was able to use my resources to quickly check through multiple vacation companies to find them the best trip with the best prices. It would’ve taken them twice as long to find what I found and I was able to get them everything they wanted! They were even able to upgrade to an ocean front room for only $18 more! It’s these kinds of things that make me so happy to do this!

3. You can put a deposit down and make payments!

When you work with me, my agency allows people to put a small deposit down to lock in the trip and prices and then you can decide how much you want to pay and when. As long as you are paid in full 30 days before your trip, it doesn’t matter what you decide to do! This makes it so easy when you are trying to plan a Christmas trip months in advance but just can’t drop all the money at once. Lock in those rates with a deposit! *note- some vacations require a higher deposit – it just depends on where you’re going and how much the trip is. Most Disney vacations require a $200 deposit per room.*

4. I will monitor for deals and discounts

While I don’t score any discounts for being an agent, I am able to apply any deals or discounts that Disney (or any other supplier) releases before most people know about them. If you booked your trip in April, and in July they release a free dining plan offer during the dates of your trip, I can automatically apply this to your trip and now boom! You got free dining! When you book it yourself, you may never know about this discount and if you do, you may know about it too late – these offers do sell out! Not only that, but you’d have to sit on hold to apply it if you booked on your own – I’ll do that for you if you use an agent!

5. The best one of all – my services are FREE

Using an agent (at least in my case) is absolutely FREE. You get the expert advice, tips, recommendations, discount monitoring, and all of the above for no extra cost at all. So what’s the catch? There really is none. My agency pays me – you don’t pay me. I always say, if you're already planning on going then you should consider using an agent since it won't cost you anything extra and you'll get all the above perks!
